Description

This is Riverside Records RLP 12-327, James Clay & David "Fathead" Newman, The Sound Of The Wide Open Spaces, a blue label, deep groove, original mono issue, featuring Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones, and Art Taylor.  The record is in near mint condition, showing almost no signs of wear and playing quietly throughout. (PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A SMALL EDGE WARP. IT IS VISIBLE IF YOU LOOK FOR IT, BUT IT DOES NOT EFFECT PLAY IN ANY WAY. THE NEEDLE RUNS STRAIGHT AND TRUE WITHOUT ANY WOBBLE, AND THE MUSIC IS CLEAR, QUIET AND UNDISTORTED). The deep groove labels are perfect. The original cover, with original rice paper inner sleeve, has a 4" split seam on the top, a 2" split on the bottom and a small amount of edge wear but is otherwise excellent and intact. This is a superb copy of this wonderful, obscure collector's piece, offered with no reserve. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping on multiple orders. International customers, please wait for an invoice, or contact me about combined shipping rates as Ebay does not provide accurate numbers. Thanks for looking.
