   For sale is James Cotton Blues Band's Cotton In Your Ears, originally released in 1968 by Verve Forecast, manufactured by MGM Records Division. In the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks is machine stamped a block "S", followed by the matrix number S-2, signifying that an early stamper was used to make this record at MGM Records Manufacturing pressing plant located in Bloomfield, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the album int MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have originally come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with the listing. The cover is graded as VG because of corner blunts, ring wear, and edge rubs resulting in tears and paper loss on both corners. The spine also has color loss in the middle from stress cracking. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent because of some faint sleeve marks. I'm play grading this as VG+ because of an occasional pop, along with some low level surface noise, more noticeable during the quiet sections of playback.
