Description

Early second pressing of Moody by James Moody and His Band, released on Prestige Records (PRLP 7072) with the iconic yellow “fireworks” label and RVG-etched deadwax. This pressing features the 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. label address, placing it between 1956–1958, just after the first New York pressings.

• Vinyl: VG+ — Glossy surface with some light cosmetic marks. Plays clean overall with occasional background crackle typical of vintage pressings. No skips or major flaws.

• Jacket: VG — Solid and glossy front with some aging around edges and a small blemish on the lower front. Spine and seams are intact. Laminated cover typical of 1950s Prestige jackets.

• Etchings: Hand-etched RVG in deadwax — mastered by Rudy Van Gelder

• Deep Groove / Mono Hi-Fi


Includes standout performances of “Keepin’ Up With Jonesy” (written by Quincy Jones), “Workshop,” and “Mambo With Moody.”
