Record Visual Quality: Side 1 is EXCELLENT and Side 2 is VG+/ EXCELLENT.
Record Audio Quality: Side 1 plays EXCELLENT/ NEAR MINT with no jumps, no clicks and no crackle. Side 2 plays EXCELLENT with no jumps, no clicks and no crackle: All my records are machine cleaned and fully played/ checked to ensure the quality declared.

Here is an extremely rare, original 1962, UK 45 from USA Soul singer Jan Bradley, in excellent condition on that well known red and yellow, '60's Soul & R&B quality label of Pye International. This is the only original UK '62 copy of this disc I have ever seen. You can find US copies and even re-release 'hits' versions BUT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK ISSUE, which is valued very highly in the Rare Record Price Guide. Back in 1962 this disc charted high in the States but never in the UK despite its obvious quality, having been penned by genius Soul singer and writer Curtis Mayfield, originally of US Group, the Impressions. As such it is an incredibly difficult single to find in the UK. Mama Didn't Lie is a great soul piece with a fine chorus, beautifully delivered by Jan Bradley's lovely voice which sounds not unlike Mary Wells, as she sings how her mother warned her about men's tricks. The 'B' side, Lovers Like Me starts with a piano intro as Jan sings about 'the Moon and Stars being made for lovers like her'. It is another good tune with a nice Brass phrase.
