redgarnett Store ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful and rare LP – a superb collector’s copy – from Westminister (XWN 18511, US pressing, blue/silver label, mono) features sublime performances of 3 camber music sonatas by Claude Debussy, a magical album – one of Westminsters finest chamber LPs – with truly fine sound to match. This LP was first released in the early- to mid-1950s.
The exact contents are as follows, with players and work timings shown in parenthesis:
Violin sonata in G minor (12:01)
> with Jean Fournier (violin) and Ginette Doyen (piano)
Cello sonata in D minor (12:19)
> with Antonio Janigro (cello) and Ginette Doyen (piano)
Sonata for flute, viola, and harp (17:40)
> with Camille Wanausek (flute), Erich Weiss (viola), and Hans Jellinek (harp)
Incidentally, there are superlative liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket, in English only, by James Lyons, Editor of Hi-Fi Music and The American Record Guide. The lovely cover art is uncredited.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There is slight bumping/wear at corners, but really that is all. Otherwise, the album appears almost as new. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and very striking in appearance – overall, this remains a very handsome collector's copy.
The condition of the LP is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not CD silent, in general the playback is quite fine. However, those requiring CD silent surfaces are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
