Description
About This Record. This is the rare yellow vinyl issue of one of Janis Joplin's best live performances. The black vinyl ones turn up from time to time, but this is the only yellow vinyl copy I have seen! The sound quality is excellent! This is the real deal. A stereo disc that weighs in at 164 grams! I only weighed one of the two discs, but assume they both weight the same.
Cover Condition. The cover is a nice VG+. The spine and seams are strong. It gets a VG+ because of some age spots on the cover. No writing or any signs of price stickers etc.
Vinyl Condition. I do NOT use the EX grade! Vinyl is a nice M- and each disc weighs 164 grams (OK, I weighed only one). You can see one or two minor marks, but looks and plays M-. Probably one of the nicest copies on the planet which has been gathering dust in my collection for a few decades. If for some wierd reason you would prefer the black vinyl issue, I would be happy to sell that to you instead for the same price (assuming I can find it; should be in same condition as I remember).
Grading Vinyl. I use modified Goldmine grading standards. Mint/NM/VG+/VG/VG-/G+/G. On rare occasions I may use VG++. I DO NOT use the EX grade! My VG+ is EX to EX+, and my VG is EX-. I grade conservatively; look at my feedback! I play grade my vinyl with an MC Ruby 3 Micro Benz cartridge. I do not alter the records, covers, or labels with pens, tape, glue or other stuff. When I notice such damage, I point it out in detail!
