Zweites Album von Janis Joplins Band Big Brother And The Holding Co. von 1968. Es ist extrem schwer, Mono-Pressungen dieser LP zu finden, da Columbia 1968 anfing, das Mono-Format aus dem Katalog zu streichen (siehe z.B. Bob Dylans John Wesley Harding). Diese Ausgabe ist eine brasilianische Pressung auf orangenen CBS Labels. Das Cover ist kein Klappcover, die Vorderseite ist laminiert und die Rückseite wurde modifiziert, damit die Titelliste am rechten Rand Platz findet.

Sehr angenehmer Klang, insbesondere Summertime klingt sehr warm, die Instrumente sind differenziert und ich hörte einige Keyboard-Sounds, die mir bei der Stereo-Pressung noch nie aufgefallen waren.

Die Hülle ist sehr schön erhalten. Die LP hat einige Oberflächenkratzer, die aber beim Abspielen nicht zu hören sind, die Labels sind völlig sauber, keine Verunreinigungen o.Ä. (s. Photos)


Second album by Janis Joplin's band Big Brother And The Holding Company from 1968. It's extremely hard to find mono pressings of this title, as Columbia was starting to drop the mono format from its catalogue in 1968 (see Bob Dylan's John Wesley Harding, for instant). This one was pressed in Brazil on orange CBS labels. The sleeve is not a fold-out, front cover is laminated and the back was modified to fit the track listing on the outer edge.

Very pleasing sound, especially Summertime sounds very warm, i heard some keyboard sounds that I never noticed on a stereo pressing.

The sleeve is in very beautiful condition. The vinyl has a few surface marks, but nothing that is audible during playback, the labels are super clean and beautiful, no marks. (see photos) Side 1:
