SR 90409, Janos Starker (cello) / Antal Dorati, London Symphony, Tchaikovsky – Variations on a Rococo Theme, Saint-Saens – Cello Concerto in A Minor, CTFR1/CTFR1: This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old so called “vendor” pressing. The cello sound is big, warm and lush and very realistic. This copy is my own, and the vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and EXCEPTIONALLY quiet. The vinyl looks and sounds virtually new. There are some harmless scuffs that make no sound. The vinyl shows no wear at all and grades NM. The labels are perfectly clean, but for a single spindle mark on each side – probably played once. The jacket is clean and grades NM with no marks, seam splits, or corner scuffs (see photos). The inner sleeve is also NM. Overall, this is an almost perfect copy of this wonderful golden age recording that plays very close to mint. Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
