redgarnett Store ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This superb and rather rare late-issue LP from EMI (7 49964 1, German Electrola pressing, large dog semi-circle label, DDD stereo) features conductor Mariss Jansons and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in a glorious orchestral showpiece album, sumptuously recorded in the rich acoustics of the Konserthuset, Oslo, Norway in January and February 1989.

Maurice Ravel: Daphnis et Chloe – Suite No. 2
Paul Dukas: L’Apprenti Sorcier
This album was produced by John Fraser and engineered by Mike Clements. The striking cover photo of Jansons was taken by the great Paul Huf. There are insightful liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket in English and French (by Ingrid Grimes), as well as in German (by Knut Franke).
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. Really, there are no flaws to speak of and the album appears virtually as new – an outstanding collector's copy.
The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
