Who Knows, It May Be The Only One Left

Originally released in 1967 on a 7” single (two songs: Suey, As The Clouds Drift By). As I understand it Jimi Hendrix was not credited on the original (I have never seen the original so accept this as hearsay). Sometime later (haven’t been able to pin down an exact year) it was re-released in a limited pressing of 500 records on 12” format. Of those 500 some were probably recorded to tape and stored away, some got played to death and some still hang around in used but less than perfect condition. How many were never opened or played? Good question for which I don’t have an answer. This could just be the only one!

My girlfriend happened across this album unopened and never played in a reputable record shop. After asking the shop owner for any information about the album he told us it was part of a private collection acquired for his store. He couldn’t provide any historical information about the “Mansfield – Hendrix” musical collaboration. A little online research yielded at least one Hendrix biographer that chronicled this unusual partnership. The cover is as perfect as any new album you would find on the racks in the days when Vinyl was King. As one of only 500 it certainly ranks as a highly collectible and rare bit of musical history.

The pictures represent a best effort by an unskilled photographer (and I’m well pleased with the results). They pretty much tell the story so examine them closely. What you see is what will be shipped to you.

The Business Part

Even though I personally do not like bidding on reserve price items, I feel it necessary to set a reserve price for this rare item simply to avoid not reimbursing myself for the original cost plus the auction listing and final price fees. I would much prefer keeping this in my collection rather than losing on it.

Winning bidder is expected to pay through PayPal within 5 days of auction close. Other payment methods will not be accepted for this auction. All values are US Dollars.

Packaging will be done with extreme care in consideration of the rare and collectible nature of this item. Shipping insurance is highly recommended.

Shipping and handling via US Postal Service will be $5.95 to the lower 48 states. Canada, Alaska and Hawaii will be $6.95. Shipping and handling to anyplace else will be determined after auction close. Sorry, I will not ship to the International Space Station (must draw the line somewhere).
