Description
I inherited many, many records and will be letting some of them go. This one is from my dad, Chuck Mahaffay's, collection. He was an early player in the Seattle jazz scene in the 60's with his band, Chuck Mahaffay & the Individuals. I carried his drums, etc. as a kid into the classy nightclubs he played in with his band in the early Seattle jazz days. Those were the days when tight quartets/quintets, etc. played to well dressed patrons on their Saturday nights out - no moshpits. I heard the music later on albums like this one. This one is as follows:
Title: Jazz In A Stable American Jazz Series 1950s ? ORIGINAL - looks unplayed to me
Dated: compilation apparently from 1950's but is not dated Label: American Jazz Series - Panorama Records TRLP 1
Includes: "It Might As Well Be Spring," "Honey Bunny," "Moten Swing," "Porta Desks and Tuxedos," "One Bass Hit," "Off Minor," "Sweet and Lovely," "Ray's Idea," "Dear Old Stockholm"
Condition of LP: Very Good condition - looks UNPLAYED - probably has never been out of the fragile semi-transparent cello-sleeve. I decided NOT to take it out.
Condition of Cover: Good condition, no splits. Small peeling. Fragile cello-sleeve. Colorful cover art with appropriate fading due to age. Backliner notes give details of series, but only recaps brief history of the Boston scene inspiring this recording - it does not describe players, nor gives a date other than a reference to 1950.
Shipping - $4.00 within U.S. and I will combine shipping for multiple items purchased - I will send an updated invoice in these occasions.
I have begun to to ship internationally, and prefer to use Priority Mail International, which is usually about $45.00 - $65.00 US to most places. In some cases, if the buyer prefers, I may ship First Class International, which will be about $20 US less. I will send an adjusted invoice at the end of the auction.
As I am not a dealer, I am describing my items as a regular person. I am describing what I see under very good light and only listing the best as I find them. If I wonder about what I see, I do not list the album. I also think most of the records need a good cleaning, but I am not trained to do it! I value good communication and welcome any questions you may have. And I hope for positive feedback, of course, as it helps me know you are happy in an easy way. Thank you for looking!
If you get a chance, please check out my other items!
