Description
Thelonious Monk Plays the Music of Duke Ellington, on Riverside 202. Original deep-groove, mono copy is VG, with full gloss, quite a few light scratches and paper scuffs, but nothing heavy or deep. Plays with good clarity and fidelity, some soft ticking and surface noise audible, but certainly a very listenable copy, with no dramatic pops or skips. Laminated front cover looks nice, with light wear, a slightly bumped top-right corner and a more-heavily bumped lower-right corner, where there is also a one-inch seam split. Rear cover shows heavier aging, has an ink-pen check mark next to one track title. Seams have some minor flaking, missing/torn paper at top inch of spine. A very decent copy of a very desirable record.
I am currently selling a very nice batch of 50s and 60s jazz originals in great shape, so check my other auctions.
