Description

An absolute gem! This 1st UK Mono (LAE 547) pressing on the Vocalion label of 'Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus' is one of the finest pressings I've ever heard. Easily the best version of this album out there. Better than the MFSL, 1st U.S. and the Acoustic Sounds SACD/Lp . Released in 1962, Vince Guaraldi took the popular Bosa Nova sound and reworked it to suit an audience ready for something a little different. His hunch payed off and won him a Grammy for the song 'Cast Your Fate To The Wind'.  This pressing is a real treasure.

 

Condition of Album Jacket: Excellent....I was tempted to say Near Mint but wanted to remain conservative due to some very minor issues. A couple of inoffensive creases on the front...some slight corner wear. The wonderful mirror-like lamination to the front and back is very impressive though there is some evidence of slight bubbling to the back along the spine due to temperature variation over the years. Flipbacks are intact and clean. You would be hard-pressed to find one in better condition.

 

Condition of Record: Near Mint....Unbelieveably clean vinyl with clear detailed audio even after 50 years! Labels are perfect. Record has good weight as well. Includes original inner-sleeve.
