Description
JAZZ AT THE PHILHARMONIC VOL 16, Clef MG vol 16, 3 12 inch LP's and 1 10 inch LP in box, includes folio with 13 separate 8x10 photos of the musicians.
This JATP release was recorded Sept 23, 1953, at Carnegie Hall. The musicians are Roy Eldridge, Charlie Shavers (trumpet), Bill Harris (trombone), Benny Carter, Willie Smith (alto saxes), Ben Webster, Flip Phillips (tenor sax), Oscar Peterson (piano), Herb Ellis (guitar), Ray Brown (bass), J. C. Heard (drums). This ensemble performs Concert Blues, Cool Blues, Ballad Medley (September Song, Someone To Watch Over Me, Flamingo, I Can't Get Started, Makin' Whoopee, Young Man With a Horn, Embraceable You), The Challenges, One O'Clock Jump, Flying Home, The Drum Solo (Gene Krupa added).
The Oscar Peterson Trio (w/ Herb Ellis, Ray Brown) performs Lollobrigida, Pompton Turnpike, Swinging On a Star, Love For Sale, Swinging Till the Girls Come Home.
Lester Young (tenor sax) (w/ Oscar Peterson, Herb Ellis, Ray Brown, J. C. Heard) performs Lester's Blues, I Cover the Waterfront, Lester Gambols.
The Gene Krupa Trio (w/ Benny Carter, Oscar Peterson) performs Indiana, Somebody Loves Me, Laura, Stompin' at the Savoy.
Condition of records is E, no scuffs, no scratches, no spindle marks. The box has suffered some damage. There are tape repairs along the bottom and the spine, and some of the corners are broken as well.
This week's listings will be our last until the end of summer. We will be back with new listings on September 4.
We play grade all of our records on quality equipment. We offer a money back guarantee that condition is as described. Plus (+) or Minus (-) indicates variations.
M = Mint. Brand new, unplayed. We never use the term "mint" to describe a used record, no matter how clean the record is.
E = Excellent. Some evidence of having been played, with no audible defect. Shiny surface, no groove wear.
V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.

We think that most buyers want to receive their winnings quickly, so we offer the fastest mail options and we pack our records very carefully in heavy duty mailers. Shipments are made on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. Records which have been paid for by 3:00 PM on the day before will be shipped on those days.

Canada $12.00 First Class Mail International;
Overseas (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South America) $20.00 First Class Mail International.
