ULTRA-RARE PRIVATE LP MADE IN 1957 BY THE TOWN OF LYON FOR ITS 2000 YEARS FEAST.
- NICELY SOUNDING RECORD -
This version of the 10th LECLAIR’s sonata by the cult female violinist Jeanne GAUTIER is only on this record, and we can say it is an outstanding one.
While the announcer still speaks we can hear the virtuoso briefly trying her violin. She plays with the great lyonese pianist Ennemond TRILLAT (at the harpsichord for this piece) of whom we know few very rare recordings on confidential labels – he was also a chambrist with the cellist Jean WITKOWSKI, and the director of the Lyon’s Conservatory.
He plays here also piano – as usual – for the LISZT’s piece in honour of Lyon silk workers revolt : a powerful and virtuoso version.
The other parts are musical or spoken, theatre and poetry.
Composers : RAMEAU, Didier LUPI Second, Louis MARCHAND, WIDOR, Claude TERRASSE, Georges-Martin WITKOWSKI. The organ pieces are played by Louis PAPONAUD.
Among the theatre material is a very good scene of « Guignol », the legendary popular lyonese tradition.
SLEEVE CONDITION: EX (looks close to new ; glossy, with only light signs of record shape, few minor tiny wear spots at corners and spines, superficial 3 cm slit at laminate at bottom spine).
RECORD CONDITION : VG+ (this flat thick mono is glossy, barely played, with only superficial re-sleeving scuffs and 1 local cosmetic trace with no incidence ; the private wax is fortunately good and mostly silent but has some local surface irregularities, from factory, making incidental soft thuds in the background, a bit present in the Leclair sonata burt really not disturbing – probably all the other LP has this problem less or more /// Plays mostly VG++ or better, very rare occasional single tics or very light noises – few on the Leclair sonata, very few ont Liszt) /// please remember this is early mono wax, playgraded here with stereo equipment)
