ULTRA-RARE PRIVATE LOCAL LP MADE IN 1957 BY THE TOWN OF LYON FOR ITS 2000 YEARS FEAST.
NICELY SOUNDING RECORD,
but the wax has an irregular surface making some smooth bass thuds in the background,
not so disturbing. The buyers must accept this is not a perfect LP with silent background, just an ultra-rare mono LP issued with local irregular surface but smooth, with no bubbles and no hard bubble, no jump or serious problems, very enjoyable if you accept some very acceptable bass thuds passing on the very deep background, leaving free and powerful the nice sound of the two instruments. This very confidential edition may include some nicest or poorest LP, as happens with early private mono productions : if you expect a very nice sampler, please wait for it.
This version of the 10th LECLAIR’s sonata by the cult female violinist Jeanne GAUTIER is only on this record.
While the announcer still speaks we can hear the virtuoso briefly trying her violin. She plays it with the great lyonese pianist Ennemond TRILLAT (on harpsichord here).
He plays here also piano – as usual – for the LISZT’s piece in honour of Lyon silk workers revolt : a powerful and virtuoso version.
The other parts are musical or/and spoken, theatre and poetry.
Composers : RAMEAU, Didier LUPI Second, Louis MARCHAND, WIDOR, Claude TERRASSE, Georges-Martin WITKOWSKI. The organ pieces are played by Louis PAPONAUD.
Among the theatre material is a very good scene of « Guignol », the legendary popular lyonese tradition.
SLEEVE CONDITION: VG- (glossy, close to new except 12 cm split at the top spine, light signs of record shape, few minor tiny wear spots at corners and spines, superficial 3 cm slit at laminate of bottom spine - but not concerning the carboard).
RECORD CONDITION : mostly VG and often better but the wax has some local surface irregularities on two places, obvious but still soft, from factory, making incidental soft bass thuds in the background (2 times each rev.), also present in the Leclair sonata but not really disturbing ; this flat thick mono is barely played, with only superficial re-sleeving scuffs and 1 local cosmetic trace with no incidence, entries and beginnings of sides with some tiny superficial soft marks / playgrading = occasional single ticks or very light noises, mostly on beginning of sides – few on the Leclair sonata, very few ont Liszt)
