Description
You don't often see this incredible album come up. It is the VERY RARE first pressing, where they changed the numbers ... it's from 1968 and is all there, including the original inner sleeve. Now I'm NOT a dealer, so I'm going to describe this in my language ... and please see the pictures too. Outer sleeve: Pretty good condition, one nick on an edge and the usual indentation and slight wear where the record has been. The back is OK, not immaculate and there are a couple of seams on the bottom edge which have got damaged (see pics of this.) Inner sleeve: Original with all the advertising - slightly yellowed, but it is 47 years old. Now the important bit - the LP The matrix numbers are XAX3606 - 1 crossed out to XAX 3706-1 I have listened to it (great stuff) and here are the defects: Overall the LP is not worn and plays beautifully with minimal background noise. There are some visible minor scuffs and scratches, but NOTHING that makes the stylus jump.
These are the defects I can hear ... Side 1: Track 2 - tick towards the end, that extends a little into track three Track 3 - one tick further in Track 5 - slight tick and one pop in first 30 seconds, then a couple more in the middle and then towards the run-out Side 2: Track 1 - has a properly noisy run-in, that extends a little into the track - sorry! (It's Greensleeves, not the best track on the album.) Between tracks 3 and 4 there are some ticks Track 4 - a couple of ticks at the end
I would rather you knew about these, rather than found out later!! Having said all that it's a right good MONO feast of Beck and Rod Stewart playing the blues! Please contact me if you have any further questions.
