Jefferson Airplane – After Bathing at Baxters – RCA Victor UK 1968 mono first pressing vinyl lp.
Pressed on quality heavyweight vinyl with first issue black ‘red spot’ RCA labels. ‘Made in England by the Decca Record Company Ltd. London’ rim text. First Press matrices: URPS – 5524 – 1K / URPS – 5525 – 1K – indicating this as one of first pressed copies. Original front laminated sleeve ‘Printed in England by Robert Stace’. Record in poly lined inner sleeve.
Condition:
LABELS: excellent - clean, bright and unmarked but with a little spindle hole wear and some spindle markings. This copy has been well played but also extremely well cared for.
VINYL Visual: excellent The vinyl surfaces retain much of their original sheen and are practically unmarked (there are some (very) light hairlines but these have no audio consequence)
VINYL Audio: Plays well throughout. There are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no loud clicks/pops and only the lightest touch of surface noise at occasional points during play. The sound quality is good throughout and the whole LP plays to a very high standard, no groove-wear and no distortion. I grade it as excellent. Even though it's obviously been frequently enjoyed it still sounds great and plays pretty much perfectly from start to finish.
SLEEVE: The front laminated cover is largely undamaged, but does have a circular rub mark and edge/corner creases and rubbing. Being predominantly white it shows a certain amount of grime, especially down right hand side where the laminate has shrunk back a little and the card has curled back at edge. Spine has a few creases and back cover similar to the front. I would grade this as no more than ‘very good’ – a bit grubby but essentially intact.
