Jefferson Airplane. SOMEBODY TO LOVE (RCA Victor 9140 – 1967). MINT 45 of the #5 single which announced the arrival of The Summer of Love, and launched the careers of several all-star recording artists, including Grace Slick, Marty Balin, Paul Kantner, Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen. Springing from Airplane, two splintered off to Hot Tuna, then arrived Jefferson Starship, and then simply Starship. Mickey Thomas brought his powerhouse vocals to the group in 1979, and six years later came their back-to-back Number One hits: “We Built This City” and “Sara.” But the journey (inside joke) began with this energetic rockin’ little song originally released by The Great Society and was entitled “Someone To Love.” All our 45’s are FIRST PRESSINGS unless otherwise indicated.
