VINYL is EX
Thick, Solid high gloss vinyl has few very light hairlines that are inaudible and one barely feelable short surface scratch on Side 2, track one that makes a few very soft tics. LP plays extremely clean throughout. Labels are super clean both sides.

COVER is EX
Vivid, extremely clean cover has very minor wear at bottom of front only; tiny dent in u.r. corner. No creases, writing or soil. Straight edged and sharp cornered all around. Light wear to seams. No splits.

This album is really one of the cornerstones of psychedelic rock, the album that literally made the Haight-Ashbury scene, the album that put San Francisco on the rock map. One of those rare few albums whose influence equalled that of any Beatles album, defining the Summer of Love to the world ...the real deal in great TOP condition.

The song "Coming Back to Me" (with Jerry Garcia's help) may be one of the most beautiful and peaceful songs of the 60's. The lead-off track "She Has Funny Cars" is a true gem and a certified psych monster with some of Jorma's most stunning guitar work -setting the glistening, enveloping lysergic mood for the album, with Grace Slick's voice nearly echoing the verses of The Airplane's male singers (Marty and Paul) in a ghostly phase shift -just off sync enough to "make your trip"; who knows what the title means, but the song sure communicates the power and essence of 1967 in San Francisco.

"White Rabbit" of course was Grace Slick's cry for change and exploration into a world of psychedelic drugs and vivid colors and imagination that defined the image and true spirit of the 60's and the hippies that experienced it. "Plastic Fantastic Lover" and the side 2 opener, "3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds" are 2 more solid slices of high-flying, explosive Acid Rock at its finest; while "Today", "My Best Friend", "Embryonic Journey" and "How Do You Feel" and "D.C.B.A." are the real Surrealistic Pillows that exemplified the depth and breadth of this new Psych/Folk thing that the Airplane had nailed so perfectly.

"Somebody To Love"? If you were around then, I don't need to say a thing about this most powerful Peace and Love anthem; you know just what that song did for the movement and your life.
Jefferson Airplane truly provided a pillow that the confused and troubled youth of the time could rest their head on in times of war, drugs, and rock and roll...it wasn’t so forceful, however, as to turn off (or frighten) the mainstream — largely because Ma and Pa didn’t know what was happening — but it was strong enough to reach the youth of America, eventually most of the world; launching what became known as the "Summer of Love" and a supremely beautiful time that lasted quite a bit beyond - a time the likes of which we'll never see again.
