Let me not hesitate in telling you just how good sounding an LP this is.
Fact is, recently, a very good audiophile customer of mine asked me outright, "With the coming arrival of my new turntable and multiple arm/cartridge set-up, just what album should I play first to celebrate?"
Great question that, and a challenging one. My answer will have to remain a secret, I'm afraid, at least for a time, but I will tell you this…the Jennifer Warnes disc before you could run a close second or third.
Yep, it's that good. Here's what STEREOPHILE, who made this a "record to die for," had to say:
"Leonard Cohen's songs cut deep into the soul, leaving behind shards of emotions---the listener is left in a blue funk. Jennifer Warnes's voice is the perfect instrument for communicating the messages in this music---its purity and control are captured in a recording which reveals new musical nuances with each improvement in your system. The bass, on certain cuts, seems to extend through the floor of my listening room into my neighbor's apartment. Jennifer's presence is palpable, the voice attached to a flesh-and-blood human. There are moments when you feel compelled to get up and give her a great big bear-hug. A dynamic recording deserving of the praise it's received."

Start your listening by placing the stylus on FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT, which is cut three on side 1, and let it run two cuts, right on through JOAN OF ARC.
I promise you the following: The sound of FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT will have you talking to yourself, but only for a few moments, because JOAN OF ARC, particularly on the repeat, when she steps into the flames, will have you choking up. It is that fine.
A terrific record. Jacket is without major fault, clean, just has tape on the spine (neatly so), I guess, to prevent injury. Platter inside will play near mint. Mark at the beginning of side 1 does not sound.
