For auction is the 2016 LP box set release of the entire Garcia and Saunders '73 gigs at the Keystone club, all recorded in glorious multi-track.
This set is pure gold, simple as that. As I own the CD box set equivalent, I am in a position to sell this set. It can be quite hard to find and can go for ludicrously high prices.
The music - Easily, for me anyway, in the top 5 of the official Garcia releases, ever. It is lose playing, in a club environment, with Jerry stretching out on Dylan covers, jazz fusion, standards and blues, to name a few genres. The whole band is on, yet so relaxed. Jerry, playing 'Alligator', is sublime, brilliant, focussed, with this set representing the best of Jerry: The blues picking, ('It takes a lot to laugh' and 'Someday Baby', as examples), and jazz fusion playing on the likes of 'My funny valentine which showcases the ease, during this period, at which he could easily have stood proudly alongside such luminaries as John McLaughlin, (there, I've said it!). Spin these discs and play it loud - you'll be transported back to '73 in this tiny club.
The set is in great condition overall, save for a tear in the corner of the outer box, as shown in the photos. Set comes with a poster and booklet, both of which are in perfect condition! From smoke and pet free home.
