Super-rare US import promo of the original motion picture soundtrack LP to ‘The Boys From Brazil’ (1978, dir. Franklin J. Schaffner), composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith.

This release features the usual white label often associated with promos as well as an ATV Music Group (now part of Sony) sticker across the bottom right corner of the front cover, stating Goldsmith's soundtrack was being put forward for consideration for 'Best Original Score'. This album would have been sent round to members of the Academy for consideration for the 1978 Academy Awards, which took place in early 1979. While nominated, it lost out to 'Midnight Express' (Giorgio Moroder).

Get this while you can – the only one of its kind on eBay. Likely to be a one-off with this white sticker.
The all-star cast of the movie included Laurence Olivier, Gregory Peck, James Mason and Lili Palmer.

Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
Vinyl: VG. Wonderfully clean on visual inspection. One or two hairlines and some other light surface scuffs but these don't affect playback. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great. Some light surface noise in places, more obvious in quieter cues. One loud click a few seconds into track 1 vocal of side 2. No skipping, jumping or sticking.
Outer sleeve / Cover: VG. Colours are unfaded and clean. Stored responsibly. Top corners show light nicks, with scuffing on bottom two. Light rubbing on disc outline. Couple of dents. Light creasing in from edges. White sticker in bottom right clean and unfaded. Spine has light dropout and creasing. Aperture lightly nicked. Edges show mild wear. Back cover has a few creases in from spine and light disc outline at top and bottom. Bottom flipback half-detached from front. Overall nice.
Inner sleeve: VG-EX. Original. White paper with squared corners. Folding/creases. Central split on one side. Clean and intact.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
