Jerry Lee Lewis Sun Record # 296 High School Confidential/Fools Like Me- 78 RPM in Excellent Condition!
This is a truly exceptional example of a later 78 for Jerry Lee. This plays like a dream on both sides. You hear Jerry's voice and piano boom out clearly.
This record has plenty of Gloss on both sides. This is a very high grade record.
As you can see, there is some minor flaking on the labels in the area where is reads Memphis, Tennessee. Other than that, the rooster, color and everything else looks great.
Please note the absence of spindle marks. There is a tiny mark or discoloration about 1/2 an inch into the record. It was completely undetectable during the test play. There is also a tiny shadow near the edge on the same side. This could have been due to storage in a 78 sleeve that did not completely cover the record, I'm not sure. Again, this did not affect play.
It may clean off, but we will leave that to the auction winner. Other than that, there are no cracks, chips, scuffing or scratches. This is truly a beautiful piece.
Even with the label flaking I will call it a NM or VG++ in 45 terms.
