Who/What: Jerry Murad's Harmonicats Harbor Lights b/w At Sundown Mercury 78 RPM. Record is being sold as a collectible not as a fidelity recording--there will be some noise if played. While the record retains luster, it may not play perfectly on your player--this is just a reality that exists. During my tenure as record store manager, many people swore up and down the record skipped on their player at home but when played in store, the record did not skip. I let them pick out that same record again. This 78 RPM is one of a kind so that is not an option.. If you are fanatical about this, please consider this viewpoint. Box 11/10/17
Condition: This is always tricky but I believe this record is likely better than average. The condition of the label is another indicator while not perfect that can tell us a lot about how the record was treated or in some instances, how many times is was played. Has some surface marks and scuffs. There is a small fleck of something that appears to be pressed into the shellac of the record on the side of At Sundown--see close-up image. Please look at photos carefully--they may help you make a decision. Visually graded. A magnifier tool should appear when you run your mouse pointer over the surface of the enlarged image and it will magnify that portion of the record. Note: If this function does not appear, I suggest you contact eBay. It is a valuable tool. Questions: Email me--I always respond.
Photos: On some of the images, either my camera, its strap or even me appear as a reflection.
Packaging: Great care is always taken when packaging any of my items but especially 78 RPM records. The record will be shipped in a box with record wrapped in bubble wrap, cardboard inserts taped over that and wrapped in bubble wrap a second time, with cardboard inserts taped over that. The interior of the box will be filled in such a way so that there is no rattling around by the packaged record. Rest assured that 78 RPM records will be insured not only for the purchase price but also for the shipping/handling price as well--complete insurance for peace of mind.
