The legendary Jerry Rayson LP The Weird Thing in Town. Collector Paul Major wrote about it in the book Enjoy the Experience: "I was after this record forever. I sort of put it as the record I wanted the most in the world for years... This guys is just, truly seems to be out of his mind." And this is Paul's copy, as pictured in the book (scan from book included above), signed by Jerry on the reverse!
This could be the most out-there, primitive, outsider psych freakout ever committed to vinyl. We still don't know much about Jerry (he was a painter); we still await a legit reissue; we don't even know for sure what some of the songs are named (both sides are unbanded, and side 2 track titles as specified on the LP art and the record label don't match the content of the songs)! With no other copies available for under $1200, this is your baby.
The front cover is sharp; the back cover is signed. Bottom and top seams are beginning to separate. The record itself is CRUNCHY; sound quality rates only "good". You're going to need a cleaned-up copy for listening...which I'll be happy to provide (I've digitized the record and done extensive click/pop removal, using tools in iZotope and Adobe Audition! I'll send you WAV files and MP3s). A truly beyond-belief explosion of "Physcadelic" kinetic energy, you need this in your library! It's Rocbuafro! Compre el disco!
