JETHRO TULL "HEAVY HORSES" LAMINATED GATEFOLD COVER GREECE CHRYSALIS 6307 622
Hello again, fellow Tull collectors. Here is a wonderful and rare edition of Tull's brilliant 1978 album. It is quite nice in that it is a beautiful laminated gatefold cover with the lyrics printed inside. All other printings I have seen lack a gatefold and simply include a lyric sleeve. Based on the information on the inside, this is from Greece and the cover information indicates catalog # 6307 622. The vinyl itself gives a catalog number of CHR 1175 and has no indication of where it was pressed. I have never seen this version mentioned in any Jethro Tull discography!
The cover is in very nice shape and close to M-. The inside of the gatefold is in overall good shape but it has some gum-like residue and small tears on the lower edge. The vinyl rates VG+ with occasional light surface noise, no warps or skipping. The both labels have a 1" orange grease pencil mark. Overall, this is would make a nice addition for Tull collectors!
I play rate all vinyl and am a conservative grader (some say down right picky). A purely visual inspection might be convenient for the seller but not necessarily for the buyer! I've been collecting vinyl for 30 years and know from experience that visually a record might look mint but may play with a lot of surface noise; some vinyl looks pretty bad but may sound terrific. So, playing all of the record- not just bits- is the way to go.
