Description

An original 1st issue of 'Living In The Past' on UK Chrysalis from 1972 - toward the end of the initial chart run. Matrix 1/1/2/1. Etchings 'Peckie/Pecko/Porkie'. Please note there's no perimeter text on the labels - which is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original soft-back matt finished gatefold. It's printed by 'Cavendish', and contains a number of photo pages and two inner sleeve/bags for the Lps - all of which are still intact and attached to the main body of the cover. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+/Ex) In great condition and have only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks on disc 1 & then a number of very light marks on disc 2 - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is both minimal and infrequent. The first three sides play very clean with very little to fault at all. The final live side reveals just a touch of lightest static in places - certainly nothing remotely invasive.
Cover (Ex) Ok, so these original copies are a bugger to find in great condition. Usually the main two issues are heavy wear on the exterior and then often the interior pages have detached from the main cover. Neither of these issues are apparent here. Yes, there's a bit of handling wear and down in the bottom-left a ding, but overall it has survived the years relatively unscathed vs many other examples. The interior is really something else...Often heavily thumbed or exhibiting foxing..this copy is perhaps the best I've seen. Clean, not heavily thumbed, very little ageing at all. Both inner sleeves/bags are in great condition with one showing a two inch split at the bottom edge. And, as I mentioned above, the whole lot is still attached to the main body - which is a god send! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
