Description

An original 1st press of LITP on the UK Chrysalis label A1/B1&A1/B1. Etching Porkie/Peckie etc. Stampers 1M/1GR/1T/2AD. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Hard-cover gatefold booklet. The earliest copies employed this hard card and the result is a far more sturdier cover [night and day difference with later copies]. Inside the cover are two pockets for holding the records. So 100% genuine and 100% complete. Will ship in an over-12-sized polylined bag to protect it [i.e. slightly larger than the standard 12 inch poly-lined bag which is too small]
Vinyl (Ex/Ex/Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a very accomplished and clean player. Expect a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The only track which was slightly off the pace, as is often the case, was 'By Kind Permission' - the 1st track of the final [live] side. There's just a touch of light background noticeable here and there. Nothing invasive - it just won't play as clean as the rest of the LP. Then there's a couple of ticks as 'Darma' kicks off - but the tracks plays great! Overall a stellar rendition of some of Tull's best work.
Cover (Ex) In great condition and it really is well worth insisting on these earlier heavy-card covers. Surfaces are very nice and clean with no signs of excessive wear at all. Edgewear is very light for this title and the spine's pretty much fully intact. The interior pages are all in excellent condition and still stapled in just fine. The pages have not been heavily thumbed and there's just a touch of lightest ageing in one or two spots. The two pocket are both intact. One does not have any splits, the other has a two inch bottom edge split. Overall a very impressive example.
