Description

Jethro Tull STAND UP on rare still SEALED vinyl lp with gatefold jacket. Reprise Records 6360, a division of Warner Bros. Seven Arts.

I believe this still sealed lp to be an original Reprise pressing from 1969 which would include the famous pop-up.

According to the web page THE REPRISE RECORDS STORY, the W7 logo & Reprise logo were used together on Reprise record labels from 1968 to late 1970, approximately from Reprise lp catalogue numbers 6280 through 6402. STAND UP is catalogue number 6360.

In late 1970, Reprise dropped the W7 logo (Warner Bros.-Seven Arts) and just kept the Reprise logo.  I've provided a close-up of the front cover, upper right which shows the W7 logo together with the :r Reprise logo on the jacket, as well as a close-up of the bottom of the back cover fine print which clearly states "Reprise Records, a division of Warner Bros- Seven Arts", a designation which was dropped from Reprise Records after late 1970. To read the full account of the Reprise history, you can go to this page by copying & pasting the following url in your web browser:   http://www.bsnpubs.com/warner/reprise/reprisestory.html

There is no bar code on the back cover. This is not a cut-out lp; there are no hole punches or saw mark cuts.  No price stickers.

This sealed gatefold lp is in beautiful mint/near mint condition. The seal in tight and good. I can see two small breathe holes in the shrink on the front cover on the right side, one on the face of the group member with glasses, and the other near the right eye of the reclining group member. There is one small minor ding on the spine and only some very minor wear on the back cover, but nothing really, as you can see in the photos below.

On the back cover upper left, it's impossible to read in the scan below, but it says "A Chrysalis Production"  not "Chrysalis Records". This is not a Chrysalis release, it is a Reprise release. ("A Chrysalis Production" was a customary back cover credit for Tull's US Reprise releases.)  The front cover is beautiful.  This is an absolutely beautiful, stunning still sealed copy.

IT WOULD BE VERY HARD TO FIND ANOTHER SEALED COPY OF THIS CLASSIC TULL LP!

THIS LP LOOKS LIKE IT JUST CAME OFF THE RACKS OF YOUR LOCAL RECORD STORE BACK IN THE LATE SIXTIES!
