This is an absolute rarity in the progscene which does not come up very often at all. This is of course the very first press of Jethro Tulls classic album. The vinyl has some hairlines and scuffmarks. On replay the sound of the heavy vinyl is magnificent!!! On side two there are a few pops on track 4 due to a small mark. There are NO jumps and the album plays great throughout, a credit to these heavy first presses. I play my records on the very revealing Linn Sondek with B&W floorstanders and Rotel amplifier and it really comes up trumps!!! There is hardly ever any background noise. Some achievement for a 40 year old record.The winner of this auction will likely be very pleased.
The sleeve is also splendid!! NO creases at all The inside gatefold looks as if it was just bought over the counter of a '60's record shop!! The spine and edges have some minor rubbing but all wordings are legible. A small split on the bottom edge. The start of some ringwear to the back.THERE ARE NO CREASES AT ALL!!!!!
All in all a very rare first press Tull second album which is getting increasingly hard to obtain in any shape or condition!!!
