Description
Jethro Tull "Thick As A Brick" LP
Original U.K. vinyl pressing of Jethro Tull's fifth album "Thick As A Brick," released on Chrysalis Records. Catalog number CHR 1003. 12-page newspaper album cover printed by the E. J. Day Group, London. Produced and written by Ian Anderson. Vinyl mastered by George Peckham. Green disc labels with red Chrysalis butterfly logo and no perimeter text.
Record is in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition with minimal superficial scratches in very few spots. Side two has some longer instances of sleeve burn. Record plays through without issue.
Outer sleeve (jacket) is in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition. The thicker card-stock outer pages (front and back cover, or pages 1/2 and 11/12) of the newspaper-style sleeve have minimal wear, mostly around the edges and corners. Most of this edge-wear is along the fold on the front page/cover, which becomes the bottom edge when folded. Two or three words in the fourth column of print are somewhat obscured due to the wear along this edge, but the rest remain clear and readable. The back page/cover has some discoloration, including what looks like very light ring-wear along the top, a darker smudge at the top above the fifth column of print, and light smudging along the upper half of the right edge. All pictures and text on the back remain clear and readable.
The inner portion of the newspaper, printed on actual newspaper stock, is in excellent condition, with no creases, tears or marks of any kind, and is still perfectly attached at the staples.
