!!!PROGRESSIVE DELIGHT!!!!ROUGH TEXTURED EARLIEST PINK ORANGE/BLACK "EYE" LABEL!!!HEAVY GLOSSY VINYL!!!!THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO RARE!!!!THESE HARDLY EVER COME UP AS A MONO!!!! REPLACED BY THE FAVOURED STEREO VERSION!!!
Visually the vinyl has a few hairline marks on each side, nothing deep or defacing the appearance. The replay belies the visual condition and this sounds SUBLIME. Sensational sound quality, NO skips or jumps. NO clicks, this is really a stunning vinyl with a beautiful deep gloss. But most of all ... HARDLY ANY CRACKLE!!!! Just in between tracks and on some quieter passages like "Serenade to a Cuckoo". This is awesome!!!!! Sounds OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Sensational vinyl with some very minor scuff marks only, a few very wispy hairlines can be detected under an intense lightsource. The high groove walls of these earliest prog albums blow any re-issue out of the water. Esp. the early Island and Vertigo vinyl are renowned for their tenacity.
I am listening to this album for a second time whilst completing this listing. This is a must have esp. for all my buyers in Italy and Russia who have asked me to list this (you know who you are) . Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.
I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! There are not any jumps or skips. There is no background noise at all!! Very remarkable for this 1968 vinyl!!! I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!!
Sleeve: VG++. Laminated Gatefold sleeve with wide spine. Nice condition With a few small edge creases. A fully legible WIDE spine and NO writing. NO writing, one of the best copies I have come across for a long time and I have seen a fair few .....!!! Saying that, they were mostly stereo copies ....THIS IS THE IMMENSELY RARE MONO VERSION!!!! Some corner scuffing but very minor! Wow!!! still listening and thinking .... whoever is going to win this is going to be very happy to hear the album!!!! The AUDIO is SOOOOOOOOOO stunning!!!! NO CD or whatever format could ever reach this height!!! An audiophile's DREAM come true!!!!
This is a unique investment opportunity. This album was ONLY ON SALE FOR ONE WEEK and then replaced by the stereo version. This was well publicised in the "Record Collector".Apart from the "Jethro Toe" 45 , this is the rarest Tull issue out there!!!
