An original 1st press of 'This Was' on the UK Island Bullseye label from 1968. Matrix A/B [absolute 1st press]. Labels are consistent with day of release 1st press - no mention of 'England'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original flipback, uncredited, mono wide-spine cover [very very 1st issue].
Vinyl (Ex) In absolutely superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Audio quality is stunningly good as you would expect from the mono 1st press. Due to a lot of acoustic numbers and the percussive nature of this Lp it really is difficult to find a clean playing copy. There's only a touch of light static just audible occasionally in a couple of tracks on side 1 - But this is in no way invasive. Overall audio quality is impressive to say the least and by and large you'd struggle to better this very clean playing copy.
Cover (Ex) This copy has clearly been looked after very carefully down those 50 years...Front and back are in great condition with barely a crease to be seen. The interior is in great shape too with flipbacks all secure and intact. Edge wear is very light. All the text in the spine is still legible with slight folding in one place, but no worn patches. Overall the cover retains great rigidity. A truly superb example and one you'd struggle to better.
Any purchase is guaranteed to get to you quickly, safely, and with total satisfaction, or your money back.
