The insurance claim has to be submitted in a timely manner. Keep in mind that vinyl records, even when sealed or never removed from inner sleeve, can have manufacture defects, such as scuff marks, hair line scratches and warps. It is very common that the inner sleeve will have a seem(s) split. The record cover can also develop a seem split(s). If perfection is what you are after, then digital media might be a better solution rather than the beautiful experience of the not so perfect analog record.
