Jethro Tull stand up Island label ILPS- 9103 +A +B matrix black and orange circle on pink label. first pressing made in England in 1969
Stand up is the second Jethro Tull album and the first to feature the talents of Martin Lancelot Barre who replaced Mick Abrahams, who went on to form blodwyn pig. Stand up is considered to be one of the best tull albums, the opening track new day yesterday starts off with an angular monster riff that seals his legendry status as the tulls ultimate guitar player. The second track Jeffrey goes to Leicester square and Boriee' move into more traditional tull territory. The pop up cover with them in medieval vagrant farmer style is a personal favourite and makes me laugh every time.
The condition of the cover is a very good plus, the inside of the gatefold is excellent the pop up is great, no graffiti or any writing all.
The spine is fine but some of the text has faded on the Jethro Tull.
The labels are excellent. No marks.
The vinyl is somewhere between excellent and very good, on first glance it looks really clean without any marks at all but when held near a bright light you can make out the odd very tiny hairline.
The audio is excellent, and has been tested on the clearaudio and sounds absolutly lovely throughout. Without any pops or crackles.
Graded using the record collectors grading system
Mint: the record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.
Excellent: the record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessoning in sound quality.The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very good: the record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality , despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
