Description

An original 1st mono press of AYE on UK Track from summer 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Mono Track labels. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day mono cover.
Vinyl (Vg+) In decent condition given that this a very early highly collectable title. Expect a few light marks per side, and one superficial scuffing patch. Ok, they are not the tidiest surfaces - but there doesn't appear to be anything feelable or worrisome. And, remember, these are lovely deep mono grooves which can handle a bit of wear without much fuss. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. Hendrix is banging out the hits, here, with some epic volume. Expect a bit of background here and there. Mostly pretty low in the mix. Slightly elevated in 'Waterfalls' - but even then not unpalatable. Even some of the bluesy lower-key numbers are playing relatively clean [e.g. Red House]. A couple of ticks in '3rd State'. It's clearly not going to trouble higher grades - but when on song it is delivering some pretty solid audio. For a Hendrix nut - this is going to hit the mark.
Cover (Vg+) Usually found in a right old state - they were at some pretty hardcore parties! But this one is looking fairly tidy. Nice flat front with just a few thumbnails and a scratch to the right of Hendrix. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the usual ageing and surface wear. BUT do keep an eye out on what looks like a coffee stain top right. Still better than many original examples. Fairly light edge wear for this title. Bit of light wear on spine - text 75% legible. Openings don't seem too feathered. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
