UK Track Records Mono First Pressing – 612 003 – A1/B1 matrices
Complete with the extremely rare original orange & red printed lyric insert/poster!
This is the genuine 1967 UK mono first issue on the Track label. Serious collectors prize this pressing for its raw, powerful mono mix (personally supervised by Hendrix, Chas Chandler and Eddie Kramer).
Key collectible features:
• Confirmed matrices: Side A runout 612 003 A △1 | Side B 612 003 B △1 (earliest first stamper)
• Original orange & red gatefold lyric insert/poster – very rarely found with first-press copies.
This one is intact with light creasing and minor rear staining consistent with age.
• Original poly-lined inner sleeve with matching British Patent Nos. 800518 & 973939 (first-press indicator)
• Matt black/silver Track labels
Condition – honest & detailed:
• Sleeve: VG+/EX. Laminated gatefold remains glossy with excellent sheen. Light rubbing on corners/edges and one crease on the front (visible mainly in certain lighting). No splits, writing, or major damage. Inside spread is clean.
• Lyric insert: VG+. Fully intact, light creasing and some light staining on the rear — still displays very well for a 58-year-old paper insert.
• Vinyl: VG+/EX. Plays very well with no skips, no loud interference, and only occasional light crackle that does not overpower the music. There are light surface hairlines and a few wispy marks from normal handling/age.
Important note on the edge: There are a few small chips/indents around the outer edge. These are common on original 1967 pressings from the era and are a result of how the record was manufactured. They have absolutely no impact on playback — the grooves are unaffected and the record tracks cleanly all the way through.
This is a complete, first-press UK mono copy with the sought-after insert. It looks impressive on the shelf and sounds excellent on a good turntable setup. Not a later reissue or stereo version.
This is a genuine piece of 1967 Hendrix history with the holy-grail insert — these don’t come around often in complete form.
