1st UK issue. Single jacket with original plain white paper inner sleeve with "British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 Made In England 4913 000 15801 311" on bottom, which may slightly vary from copy to copy.

About the controversial withdrawn cover: On June 12, 1970 the 𝔹𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕆𝕗 𝔾𝕪𝕡𝕤𝕪𝕤 album made its UK debut on Track Records. Unique to this release, the album cover, which was designed by Graphreaks, featured a portrait of inanimate dolls (aka “The Puppet Cover”). The puppets were assembled by Saskia De Boer.
This album cover art proved to be controversial, much like the artwork Track Records used for Electric Ladyland. It depicted unflattering puppets or dolls that resembled Hendrix, Brian Jones, Bob Dylan, and John Peel huddled next to a dull backdrop. The significance of posing the three with Hendrix was not evident as they had no known association with the Band of Gypsys nor the group's material. Hendrix was an admirer of Dylan and recorded some of his songs; Jones, who died the year before, had participated in a recording session for Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" (a Dylan composition); and Peel hosted BBC's Top Gear radio show when Hendrix performed there in 1967.
Michael Jeffrey remarked, "If ever there is an award for the worst taste album cover it must go to this". Responding to public pressure, Track later replaced it with a photograph of Hendrix performing at the August 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.
Ironically, this release has since become a collectible and copies can be found on the secondary market

The condition of the sleeve is very nice, a few handling marks and light stains/creases, bit of wear on the spine particularly.
BONUS! - The often missing exact original first press poly lined inner sleeve is present and has no rips, a bit of creasing , excellent condition ... *has 0670 date code and patent numbers making it original from first release...
The labels both sides are very good, a little light scratching right in the centre from past use, and some evidence of a sticker removal
There are a few scuffs and hairline marks on the vinyl, tried to show in photos but they are very light and do not cause any loud bg noise or jumps
It plays very well. A little light crackle here and there - a nice listen both sides
