Description
An original Mono 1st press of AYE on the UK track label from 1967. Matrix A1/B1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day printed cover - indicative of 1st issue.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a number of marks either side - but nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. These early mono cuts are a joy to behold and the audio is literally unrivalled. Interference is mostly light and infrequent. All we detected was a bit of light static briefly in a couple of tracks. But certainly nothing approaching invasive. Overall a very fine rendition of this early sought after Hendrix Classic.
Cover (Vg+) Looks in great condition with a beautifully shiny front with only a couple of minor creases. The rear, which is often the let down, is in well above average condition. It seems to have escaped all but the very lightest of ageing and a bit of light handling wear. Some of the text on the spine has worn away - and it has actually worn through for three inches [which is a common problem with this title]. Otherwise edge wear is reasonably light. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity and remains a more than respectable specimen.
