Description
SMASH HITS Mono 1st issue on the UK TRACK label. Matrix A2/B2. Heavy set vinyl. The record comes housed in an original MacNeil cover. The mastering of the Mono version of this LP was directly overseen by Hendrix and Chandler. This may well go to explain why it's the Mono version which seems to provide much better clarity and precision over the Stereo version. Also includes the original 'Plastic bags warning..' inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex) Has been well cared for and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are two or three light wispy marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Yes, there's a couple of light static crackles audible in the occasional spot, but by and large interference is minimal. The audio quality is fantastic - proper accurate reproduction which gets right down to resolving the wailing guitars, but keeps everything distinct and separated without getting muddied. A real beauty all the way....
Cover (Ex-) A shiny front cover with only a couple of light creases. The rear is still nice and white with the only deterioration being a graze/stain toward the opening. Please note there is a name written in the top left. Perfect spine and, overall, rigidity is spot on. Nice!
Inner (Ex) No ageing at all. One tiny rip. The Lp will come housed in an Exstatic inner sleeve.
