From our personal collection comes this Ultra Rare, extremely hard-to-find, and long out of print collectors LP from the Jimi Hendrix Experience entitled, "The Wild Man of Pop Plays Vol. 1" and released in 1988 in Italy on the Pyramid label (catalog no. RFT LP 003). (Sorry, we do not own a copy of Vol. 2, but if we find one we will let the winning bidder know). The LP is still in its original shrink wrap (opened to play the LP) and features more than a dozen concerttracks (plus TV liveappearances in Sweden and Germany) by the greatest rock guitarist of all time (backed by the Experience, one of the greatest backing groups of all-time). Culled mostly from Jimi's 1967 shows in Stockholm, this collector's LP showcases Hendrix at his blazing early, raw and psychedelicized best. More than 40 years after his tragic death at age 27, guitarists are STILL trying to catch up to this visionary artist and the otherworldly magic he conjured with a Strat and a Marshall stack. So, onto the nitty gritty: Both LP front and back color sleeve is in Excellent/near Mint condition, still housed by its original shink wrap (which has torn away partly in the top right-hand corner (about three inches or so). The black vinyl LP itself looks to be in pristine, Near Mint condition (but to be on the safe side, we'll conservatively grade it VG++ although it looks much better than that), with no scratches, scuffs, skips, or marks. Both Pyramid title labels are, likewise, in pristine, excellent condition. A lovely addition to any Hendrix fan's collection, and a rare gem for the hardcore Jimi fan who has everything (but this beauty!).
