I was recently handed a small Jimi Hendrix collection to disperse, and have pulled some of the rarities out for your consideration.
This album has been cleaned with a VPI vacuum record cleaning machine using Nitty Gritty solution. It was then played completely on a system based on Mark Levinson and McIntosh electronics on a Technics SL 1500 turntable with a $200 Grado cartridge, through new Magnaplanar speakers, looking for skips or pops, or noise that overpowers the recording. Then it was graded conservatively by an expert using the Goldmine system chart at http://www.dtmagazine.com/lpgrades.html as a guide. After grading each disc was placed in a new audiophile quality fully lined sleeve and the cover was protected by a new clear plastic envelope. You can buy this album with full confidence that the description is accurate.
This album title is “Good Karma 2”, and it appears to be a bit of an oddball. The cover is still in the factory shrinkwrap, though it has been opened. The label is a printout on 8 ½” X 11” paper titled “A Newspaper Dedicated To The People Of The World” and glued to the lower left corner of the cover. The album is a recording of a concert at the Berkley Community Center on May 30th, 1970, according to the label, and the album was produced in 1973, with cover by Wm. G. Stout.
Inside is a blank labeled record on blue vinyl with white labels. The number is JH 549.
My rater’s notes says the cover is mint, still in shrink wrap. The album inside is dead quiet, with no ticks, pops, skips or grunge. Only a few slight marks caused him to rate it Near Mint. The stick-on price tag on this copy says $2.99. I believe it has gone up a little since then. So if you want to add it to your collection, now is as good a time as any. Thanks for looking. :-
