Grading System

(Please remember that vinyl records never sound as clean as CDs)

 

  • Sealed – Mint condition. Still enclosed in cellophane wrap. As good as new.
  • Excellent – Record will show signs of having been played with no loss in sound quality perhaps only one or two very minor flaws. Cover may have slight flaws.
  • Very Good – May have some minor flaws. Vinyl might have one or two light scratches but still plays very well. Covers might have some creasing, rubbing on edges or corners. Still much better than average condition.
  • Good – Record has been played a great deal and sound quality has subsequently deteriorated. Cover might be split, discoloured, scuffed or folded.
  • Fair - The record is still just playable but it has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained or defaced.
