This album is in great shape, with only one or two small scratches. The dust jacket is worn but servicable.

Jump to: navigation, searchRainbow Bridge was a free unpromoted Jimi Hendrix concert in a horse pasture, 3000 feet up the slope of Mt. Haleakala on the island of Maui in Hawaii. A modest audience of a few hundred island hippies, surfers, and students showed up because it was rumored that Hendrix might play a free concert for a movie that Chuck Wein was directing. It was also rumored that flying saucers were predicted to arrive and hover over the concert to meet Jimi. The saucers failed to show.
This show on Maui was the last recorded Hendrix concert in the U.S. Some people mistakenly claim that this was the last live show Hendrix did in the U.S.; Hendrix actually did one more show in Honolulu, August 1, 1970, before his death on September 18, 1970 in London, England.

Bootleg Recording
A bootleg recording of the concert (mostly songs from the second show) was made, which was called "Incident at Rainbow Bridge." This phrase was stamped in blue on a white record jacket, and the record itself was made of transparent yellow vinyl. It was one of the better-selling bootleg recordings of the early 1970s. Another bootleg record (black vinyl and white label) appeared in Europe as "J.H. IN HAWAII-1970" printed in green along an old photo of Hendrix and five titles without connection to the real titles.
