To quote from the liner notes: "The concept for "Live & Unreleased" began with a phone call from friend and producer Alan Douglas in 1985 asking me to help search through the many hours of half, four, eight, twelve and sixteen track tapes recorded during Jimi's career. The sheer scope and diversification of his music became more fascinating with each tape we rolled. By 1988 we still hadn't found a home for the many gems discovered within those dusty old tapes. Around that time Westwood One Radio began running a program called "The lost Lennon Tapes". The format allowed for virtually every type of archival Lennon music to be played publicly. Impressed with the concept I contacted the show's engineer. Together we decided that a similar program showcasing Jimi's archives would be developed, thus "Jimi Hendrix - Live & Unreleased" was conceived. The show ran three consecutive nights during the Labor Day weekend in September, 1988 and was a huge success."
This 5-LP box set (with a poster) is in almost new condition with a minor indentation on the right of the front cover which . The vinyl play-grades at NEAR MINT.
Box has very minor wear and is in excellent condition the vinyl records appear in most cases unplayed
