Loose ends is an all-around good listen. It is compiled of jams and outtakes that were not released while Jimi was still alive. Mitch Mitchel, Noel Redding, Billy Cox and Buddy Miles are all credited with sitting in on these sessions. I have heard some Hendrix stuff that was released that I would deem as "unfinished", but I would not say these tracks fall into that category. Most of them don't have the complex layering like you will find on the 'Electric Ladyland' album, but are more stripped down like the "Hendrix Blues" compilation. In my opinion, this gives a much better representation of how the band really sounded during a performance, like you get with "Band of Gypsies" (minus the audience). You also get a little bit of the studio-room chatter on a couple of tracks, which is like a behind the scenes snap-shot of a day in the life of these musicians. My personal favorite off this album is the solo instrumental of 'Have You Ever Been to Electric Ladyland' on side two. It is the cherry on top of this album. It's probably only a minute long, but it's like a good piece of candy that melts quick and leaves your taste buds in a stupor of sugary bliss.

CONDITION

Sleeve - Excellent

It is in great shape. All seems are intact. There are a few light creases near the corner areas, but nothing that stands out. It has been well taken care of over the years, and it comes with a new protective plastic outer sleeve.

Record - Very Good+

There are a few marks on the first track of side one that look a little sketchy, but I had no trouble playing that track on my little Crosley turntable. There were no prominent noises or pops, and I was able to enjoy the song thoroughly without distraction. I added a photo so you can see what I am talking about. The rest of the album is pristine. It comes with a poly-lined inner sleeve, and I will give it a once-over with a microfiber brush and solution before shipping it out.
