For auction is a very rare and limited edition 5LP box set on blue and red colored vinyl containing a variety of Jimi Hendrix studio recordings from 1967-69 on 3 LPs, plus 2 LPs that contain portions of the live performance by Jimi and the Experience at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto Canada on May 3, 1969. This is the very rare box set made in Norway in 1994 and limited to 500 individually numbered copies. The LPs come in 2 laminated and full-color gatefold jackets. This copy is a complete, matching set, in that the outer box and both laminated jackets have the same numbering. This copy is number 47 of 500 made. Because the LPs came in their own laminated jackets, it is known that some sets were broken up and sold separately. So a complete set like this copy is even rarer. This set also contains both inserts, one that includes very detailed information on the various studio recordings, and another insert providing some brief information and context on the live performance recording. And finally, this also includes the ten 11 ½” x 11 ½” B&W lithograph prints that originally came with the box set, including photos from the famous Gered Mankowitz sessions with Jimi and the Experience at his studio in Mason’s Garden, London, in early 1967. The 3 studio session LPs are all on red colored vinyl, and the 2 live performance LPs are on blue colored vinyl. I obtained this copy on the secondary market in the late 1990’s, and have had it in climate-controlled storage with my media collection since that time. I have never played any of the LPs. This copy is in very close to Near Mint condition. The outer box has some very minor wear, in particular at the corners. Both laminated jackets have some minor warping on the inside, very characteristic of laminated covers. Some of the deluxe dust sleeves has some very minor rub wear and ring creasing. The LP labels are all in excellent condition. On visual inspection, all the LPs have brilliant glossy shine, and there are no scratches, scuffs or marks. I have posted the maximum number of photos ebay will allow in order to show detailed images of the condition of this set. I no longer have a turntable or record cleaner, so the records have not been play tested.

Because of the rarity of this valuable item, I will ship in a 19-inch by 15-inch by 6-inch corrugated cardboard box with ½” bubble wrap padding. I will only ship by U.S. Postal Service, and the postage amount will be the exact U.S. Postal Service charge. eBay forces sellers to pre-select a shipping service, and I have this listed with Priority Mail shipping, however I will ship by any U.S. Postal Service option the auction winner would like.
