Decent playing copy of this ultra rare jazz EP, recorded on October 4 1955 and released in June 1956 on the Esquire label, there's very little not to love about this.
Ace trumpeter Jimmy Deuchar's fine quartet on this EP consists of Terry Shannon (piano), Lennie Bush (bass) and Tony Crombie on drums, and the fluidity and swing still sounds fantastic 66 years on.
The vinyl has been nicely looked after – there are hairlines and the odd scuff but no feelable scratches, and it plays through well with a little surface noise that doesn't detract from the music.
The purple and gold Esquire labels are in close to excellent shape – just a little discolouration on one side – and the tri-centre is solid and secure.
The front and back laminated flipback sleeve with the 'Shack' designed paint splatter Jackson Pollock-style look grades VG+ and would be excellent but for a small nibble to the top of the opening edge. No seam splits and very little other wear.
Supplied with vinyl in new separate card sleeve, and with protective plastic sleeve for the whole package.
This highly collectable jazz EP is very scarce these days in any condition. Grab it!
