Jimmy Smith  ' A new sound - A new star vol.1 '  BLUE NOTE BLP 1512 (USA) mono Lexington label with deep groove - rec. on February 18, 1956 - flat edge record original 1956 issue with the address Lexington on both labels and on back cover - on trail off (dead wax) has 'RVG' and has the 'ear'    Jimmy Smith : organ - Thornel Schwartz : guitar - Bay Perry : drums
Side 1 :  The way you look tonight (Kern-Fields) - You get 'cha (J.Smith) - Midnight sun (Hampton-Burke) - Lady be good (Gershwin)
Side 2 :  The high and the mighty (Tiomkin-Washington) - But not for me (Gershwin) - The preacher (H.Silver) - Tenderly (Gross-Lawrence) - Joy (J.Smith)

Visual grading : record is VG- to VG has light unfeelable marks on both sides and on track 2 of side 2 has a small spot probably due to heat source but it does not affect the play (see pic 2). Has a stamp with previous' owner name on side 2 label Playing grading: record is VG+ plays well with loud and clear sound. Has very light occasional background noise and few light ticks. In most parts it plays EX- Cover grading : cover is Fair to Good has evident stains in right side of front cover and is soiled on the lower half of back cover which also has a tear on top right corner and three evident traces of tape's removal on left edge (see pic)
